Meet Victor Fierro! As Latinos for Life director for the Fresno-Madera region, Victor has already spoken to thousands. With several decades of involvement in the pro-life movement, Victor has become an expert at equipping adults with a deeper understanding of the pro-life issue and motivating involvement in the pro-life cause. Ethnically and culturally Hispanic, as well as bi-lingual, it’s great to have this father of eight and grandfather of eight as RLCC’s patriarch of Latinos for Life.
Victor and his wife Yolanda have been pillars in the local pro-life community for over 30 years. From the onslaught of Roe vs. Wade in 1973, the Fierro family has been busy sidewalk counseling outside of abortion clinics, teaching classes on Natural Family Planning and pro-life theology, and participating in peaceful pro-life demonstrations, as well as being active politically. With a deep respect for all human life and an equally deep faith in God, Victor’s welcoming smile and quick defense of the pre-born make him the perfect leader for Latinos for Life.
Victor has been consistently active in the Catholic Church for his whole life in various ways, from serving as the current Pro-Life Representative for the Central Chapter Knights of Columbus
He’s been involved in religious education for over 2 decades and is currently serving as Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and a Acolyte at St. Genevieve Church (smallest Catholic Church in the World). With the Latino community growing quickly across America and in our valley, it’s crucial to have a trustworthy and culturally relevant spokesperson.
Recently Latinos for Life helped protest Planned Parenthood’s new flagship facility’s opening in Fresno and is receiving excellent TV coverage as the Valley’s pro-life Latino voice. See “News Coverage” to view clips.
Latinos4Life’s goal of reaching the Hispanic population of the Central Valley is vital for many reasons. Sidewalk counselors report that as many as 70% of young girls seeking abortions at Fresno abortion clinics are Latinos, and as former abortion clinic owners have confessed, every girl walking into a abortion clinic is target for repeat business. In fact, multi-millionaire abortion clinic owner Dr. Edward Allred was quoted in the San Diego Union as saying, “Population control is too important to be stopped by some right wing pro-life types. Take the new influx of Hispanic immigrants. Their lack of respect for democracy and social order is frightening. I hope I can do something to stem that tide; I’d set up a clinic in Mexico for free if I could.”
As you can see the need is great. We’re grateful to finally be able to offer this vital outreach to our Latino community. Please feel free to contact Victor to have him speak to your church, community organization, or other gathering. Call him at (559) 229-2229, extension 10.
